Sorry, I meant to include the link to the ebird checklist.
I spent this morning (Oct 26) doing a little birding in San Diego County. Up in the Lagunas, I saw three Clark's Nutcrackers near Los Rasailes Lake, and the continuing flock of Pinyon Jays just north of the horse corral and water trough (see eBird report for more details). I then went to look for the Ovenbird at the Bird & Butterfly Garden without success. I believe there was continuous coverage from 10 am to 1 pm without any sightings.

I just heard from Michael Force who is in town at the moment. Michael reports an adult male Summer Tanager at San Dieguito County Park.
The tanager was seen in lower section Area 6 along the ephemeral stream.
Acting as the messenger.

A male Broad-tailed Paradise Whydah, originally from Africa, has been seen for the last 3 days at the west upper ball field near the Tecolote Nature Center. Most commonly seen feeding in the grass, but sometimes flies into the sycamores.

Thursday morning, I got a brief view of a fly-by American Bittern at Santee Lakes. Bird was flying low over the creek along the west side of the park near the southern end of Lake 6, heading south. I did not see if it landed, veered off, or continued.
