Broad-tailed Paradise-Whydah at Fort Rosecrans Cemetery

Gary Nunn asked me to post this so that others are aware of the presence of this Broad-tailed Paradise-Whydah and that we have a record of it in the event the species becomes a problem, along with its Pin-tailed cousin.

I saw this remarkable bird at the western fence, behind the admin building, about 8:15 a.m. Top and side of head black, nape dark coppery rufous, upperparts black, breast dark maroon to rufous, belly yellowish white, tail feathers black and extending more than the length of the body.
