Nazca Booby again at La Jolla on Thursday
Thursday morning there is yet again an adult Nazca Booby off La Jolla. The bird appeared at 7:12 a.m., only two minutes later than it did several days ago, and this time it stuck around for over 10 minutes, plunge diving and sitting on the water for quite a while. In fact, it is still on the water as I dictate this, but it has moved farther south and offshore, and is so far away I can't currently see it. A ways south of the cove and about a mile offshore. It gets a fair amount of harassment from Western Gulls. I would guess that this is the same individual that we had a few days ago, but who knows. It is certainly the same plumage and at exactly the same time in the morning.
